Beaches: Lang Tengah - Malaysian Islands - Malaysia BLUE CORAL - SQUARE POINT LOCATION: This beach is located in front of the two main resorts in Lang Tengah, namely Blue Coral Island Resort and Square Point Resort. If you are arriving from D Coconut Lagoon Resort nearby, a boat trip will take about 10 minutes to get here.
DESCRIPTION: For me, this is the only actual beach on the small island of Lang Tengah. The small patch of sands fronting D Coconut Lagoon Resort by all means is not considered a real beach due to its rocky condition.
Blue Coral - Square Point Beach, or I would call it Lang Tengah Beach, is quite long. I estimate its length from end to end is about 2 kilometres. Surely a decent beach for you to find a spot to call your own.
The water is crystal clear enough, rather comparable to those found in Redang and Perhentian. The sand is white and powdery soft, again, another criteria of a good beach for sun-worshippers.
During my visit, the beach was not crowded at all. There were a number of tourists on the beach, but their number was fairly subdued compared to the beaches on its sister islands.
There is a good snorkeling site to the far left section of the beach called Batu June. In fact, I did snorkel there and had a wonderful time underwater.
D COCONUT BEACH LOCATION: D Coconut Beach is located in front of the resort that carries the same name i.e. D Coconut Lagoon Resort. Journey from Merang Jetty to here will take about 45 minutes on speed boats.
DESCRIPTION: Playing second fiddle to the more popular Blue Coral - Square Point Beach (or simply known as Lang Tengah Beach), D Coconut Beach is not particularly interesting. It does not have what it takes to make a great beach per se, but the little white sands that it has, accompanied by decently clear water and palm swaying trees, will still make a good photographic and relaxing moment for its patrons.
In general, the beach is quite rocky at parts. There were a lot of sharp debris by dead corals that were washed ashore. Nonetheless, you can still find you spot here in the patches of white sand to sunbathe and reflect on the beautiful surrounding.
There is a snorkeling spot nearby that I managed to venture called Karang Bahar, just off to the right hand side of the beach. It wasnt a particular good snorkeling I must say, but you can still see variety of underwater stuff.
The sunset view at this beach was particularly breathtaking during my visit. While you may not be able to see the actual sun setting on the far horizon, its golden reflections can still be thoroughly enjoyed from the beach.
